Danish MCR Championship 2025

The Danish Open MCR Mahjong Championship 2025 concluded with three thrilling days of play, warm camaraderie, and fierce competition. Held over 11 rounds, the event brought together 64 players from 11 countries, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for both seasoned competitors and first-time participants. There were also 18 participants who joined the championship for the very first time, a sign of the growing appeal of MCR mahjong.

Celebrating the winners

The individual championship podium was up for grabs in the final round by 9 players in total, making it one of the most exciting finals to date. But in the end, only 1 would be crowned the champion.

Individual winners


🥇 Jesper Nøhr with a total of 30 table points and 874 minipoints. He is the Danish Champion for the 4th time, making it a new record.
🥈 Isabel Bahiano Steenholm followed closely behind also with 30 table points but falling short with 611 minipoints
🥉 Ombretta Tassinari secured third place with the most minipoints in the tournament at 1209, but with 29 table points. There were three others with 29 table points, showing how important minipoints can be in a close fight.

The championship was officiated by Morten Andersen and Sebastian Lavallée, who ensured a fair and smooth-running event. We were also happy to have Gérard Hêche as the EMA observer. Finally, a huge thank you to helpers Michel Mandix and the wife of one of our French participants for ensuring that we have snacks and hydration during the breaks.
